Family & Friends -
Sunday afternoon, September 11, 2011
there was a special remembrance ceremony in Long Beach to reflect on the 10 Year Anniversary of the September 11th tragedy.
Each year, members of the Long Beach Fire Department have hosted a Patriotic
Remembrance Ceremony to honor both victims and heroes of September 11th. This heartwarming event
was a display of community support, national unity, and American Pride.Thank you for coming on out to this free family event
and being a part of something special. The Ceremony was a mix of brief speeches, patriotic music, and more. The USMC Color
Guard stood tall as F-18 Hornets opened the ceremony with a jet flyover. Immediately after the Ceremony an American Celebration
of Freedom highlighted a free concert and lit up the night sky with fireworks on the Bay. There were also new and antique
fire engines on display, and about 2500 motorcycle riders (myself included) who rode in procession coming from Orange County.
This event was
held at McKenna's On The Bay.
